About me

I’m a Senior Software Engineer based in Berlin with 17+ years of experience. My background is in Java backend, but for the past few years I’ve been working primarily with Go, building microservices in the supply chain management domain at HelloFresh.

I enjoy leading cross-team technical initiatives — conducting research, writing design documents, aligning teams, and taking the primary implementation role. I care about observability, clean software design, and mentoring junior engineers. I also work in cross-functional teams and occasionally contribute to frontend (React) and data warehouse work (Snowflake, Databricks).

Outside of work I build side projects that let me explore new tech: an AI-powered website builder, a quiz platform, and an estimation tool my team actually uses for sprint planning.

I hold dual Ukrainian and German citizenship and have lived in Berlin since 2017.

  1. Senior Software EngineerHelloFreshAug 2021 – Present

    Senior Software Engineer in the Supply Chain Management domain, supply planning team. The team owns sourcing data, SKU master data, FSQA data, and integrations with third-party systems (AIS, Workday Sourcing). Services support all HelloFresh markets (North America, Europe & UK, AU/NZ).

    • Led cross-team migration projects from legacy single-market tools to global services
    • Implemented AI-powered SKU substitution suggestions using AWS Bedrock and the Eino agentic AI framework — one of the first AI features in the supply chain domain
    • Drove adoption of new technologies and advocated for better software design practices
    • Improved observability; carried on-call duty and contributed to incident resolution
    • Mentored junior engineers and onboarded new team members
    • Contributed to frontend (React) as part of a cross-functional team
    • Worked with DWH technologies (Snowflake, Databricks) for reporting and analytics

    Customer Data Platform (CDP) SaaS in the marketing domain. The platform ingests large volumes of user data, supports audience segmentation, and delivers real-time campaigns across multiple channels. Clients included Deutsche Bahn, Peek & Cloppenburg, and Scout24.

    • Built and maintained Java services handling high data volumes
    • Introduced MongoDB to the platform
    • Set up API gateway infrastructure with Terraform on Kubernetes, with Jenkins CI/CD
    • Improved observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
  3. Senior Software EngineerAuto1Sep 2017 – Feb 2019
    Built RESTful microservices for marketing and auction domains in an Agile/Scrum cross-functional team.
  4. Senior Java DeveloperKrusche & CompanyNov 2011 – Sep 2017
    Led the microservice re-platform of the Drivelog product (Bosch/Mobility-Media) from a Liferay monolith to Spring Boot + Spring Cloud Netflix. Conducted technical research, built the foundational services, and guided the team through the transition.
  5. Java DeveloperWelLinkFeb 2009 – Oct 2011
    Java developer on a distributed SLA-management platform for the telecommunications industry. The system processed real-time measurement data from network devices, evaluated thresholds, and generated SLA reports.

Side Projects

All three are hosted on a self-managed k3s cluster provisioned with Terraform, using Hetzner nodes and Scaleway infrastructure. Code on GitHub, deployed via GitHub Actions.
